About Apartment Air Fix

Apartment Air Fix is a small, independent publication for people who rent. We write about the appliances that break in apartments — refrigerators, air purifiers, vacuums, washers and dryers — and about the air quality problems that come with living in a sealed, shared building.

Why we exist

Most appliance advice online is written for homeowners with a garage, a truck and a weekend to spare. Renters have different constraints: you can’t drill, you can’t replace the appliance, and you may not even be allowed to touch it. Every guide we publish is written with those constraints in mind.

How we test and choose

Our recommendations are based on a combination of hands-on use, manufacturer specifications, verified owner reviews and price-to-performance analysis. When we recommend a part, we tell you how to verify it fits your model before you order. When we recommend a product, we say who it is not for.

How we make money

Apartment Air Fix is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a commission from Amazon Associates or another affiliate programme — at no additional cost to you. Commissions never influence our rankings or verdicts. Read our full affiliate disclosure.

Editorial standards

• We do not accept payment for a positive review.
• We update guides when products change or prices move significantly.
• We correct errors publicly and promptly.
• We disclose every affiliate relationship on the page where it appears.
